We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Life Underwriter who is interested in technical work and enjoys the challenge of working in multiple markets and being part of a diverse team.

Your job

Responsible for day-to-day handling of underwriting referrals. Evaluation of large and complex life and living benefits. Prepare high quality risk assessment decisions within personal underwriting authority, by using detailed knowledge of all risk factors impacting the acceptability.
Responsible for day-to-day handling of claim referrals. Evaluation of claims within the personal claim authority by using detailed knowledge. Support client company with claim investigations.
Support assessment of underwriting and claim outside personal risk authority. Set out risk assessment recommendations for consideration by appropriately authorized colleagues.
Implement and improve risk management processes and standards, promote new concepts and international best practices.
Contribute to projects and research related to risk management.
Provide support in organizing and conducting underwriting and claim audits, trainings, workshops and seminars.
Ensure local compliance in coordination with compliance officer
Your profile

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Pharmacy or Medicine
Minimum 6 years’ experience in underwriting medically substandard, as well as financially complex life and critical illness benefits.
Technical underwriting skills of the highest order.
Claims assessment skills including living benefits is preferred.
Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic (essential)
Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills; ability to deal with demanding cedants.
Excellent analytical, problem solving skills and client service focus.
Sound understanding of life insurance market in Middle East and North African markets including the regulatory environment.
Qualification or progression towards professional exams in insurance based topics (e.g. CLU, FALU, FLM, ALHC, ACII) would be preferred.

Are you Marketing Business Partner with creativity, passion, energy, and a bias towards action?

The newest member of our team will drive content marketing and management of marketing campaigns that support the Group Ambitions – growth and strategies of our global business units.

This person is also responsible for consultancy on marketing channels and corporate communications initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Marketing Communications, this person will work closely with underwriters, business leaders and project teams in steering the creative services and external agency.

Your job


  • Develop marketing strategy, plans and activities that meet business unit(s) growth strategies.
  • Drive and create high-impact and effective marketing materials targeted to clients and respective business partners.
  • Interpret business needs, provide consultation to business, and influence decisions to select the most effective communication tactic to meet business and marketing objectives.
  • Lead and implement marketing campaign, collaborate with business units Assistants / Coordinator/ Underwriters to improve (internal and external) resources to deliver high quality, innovative products in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Coordinate distribution activities, campaign management and analytics for effectiveness in getting out message.
  • Effectively work within project management processes and systems to ensure efficient cross-functional collaboration.
  • Develop marketing communications budget for responsible business unit.
  • Ensure that all marketing programs, promotions and activities are tracked and measured to determine their return on investment and success.
  • Play a lead role in other corporate communication projects.
  • Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
  • Bring creativity and innovative ideas to effectively communicate the unique value proposition

Your profile

Knowledge and Skills

We are looking for a marketing professional with proven experience in a similar role. Our ideal candidate has marketing experience in (re)insurance or financial services but this is not essential

The successful person will have outstanding strategic planning skills with the ability to think proactively and challenge common practices.

Delivering several projects at once and in a timely manner means the ability to communicate efficiently with internal partners and lead (influence) discussions to develop project objectives is vital. These projects will involve vendor management and leading project teams to balance available resources with client demands for communications services.

With regards to technical skills basic knowledge – Somebody adept in social media image formats, web language, internet/intranet maintenance skills, use of multimedia tools and technologies is pivotal to this role.

Education and Professional Qualifications Required / (preferred)

Relevant university Degree and/or relevant professional qualification (Marketing, Business Administration or related communications field)

It skills:

Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office Suite
