The Senior Actuarial Presales Consultant (General Insurance) is responsible for working with the sales team in identifying clients’ needs, proposing and demonstrating the FIS Insurance Prophet actuarial solutions and works in conjunction with the Sales Executives to pursue high value software and services sales and business development opportunities within FIS’s current and prospective client base to achieve or exceed yearly sales goals, increase market share and maximize profits.

The Solution Consultant works closely with FIS’s sales executives plus Product Development and Global Services to help identify, develop, and deliver sales of the Prophet actuarial and related insurance solutions. He also can be working as a team with the regional Sales and Pre-Sales for the same objective. He is responsible for developing and managing the clients technical and end user relationships and assisting sales executives in selling the strategic vision at C-level to board level as required.

Support FIS insurance clients in APAC/MEA with focus in GI (General Insurance)

Through direct communication with prospective clients, work with the Sales Executives to gain a thorough understanding of their business needs, system needs, IFRS requirements. Help develop and articulate the FIS Prophet actuarial solution to clients

Demonstrate the Prophet actuarial and related insurance solutions to current and prospective clients. Provide actuarial, business and technical input to RFP’s, client proposals, etc

In conjunction with the Sales Executives help manage and control the sales cycle from initial prospect contact, client needs analysis, solution presentation, completion of proposals, delivery schedules and product specifications

Leverage new technology (such as digital transformation, data analytics, machine learning and AI) to develop new solutions across multiple product lines and with third party products

Lead GTM initiatives for business development and incremental revenue

Be customer technical focal point and co-ordinate with other company’s resources regionally and locally

Maintain an effective presence at industry events, conferences, seminars and trainings as required.

Represent FIS in the relevant actuarial associations and fairs.

Product

Maintain expertise in related insurance industry issues relative to trends, competition, and customer needs.

Maintain expertise relative to the function and technology of the FIS product offering in order to represent and sell effectively.

He will be assuming the role of trainer for internal staffs who is supporting the insurance business locally.

What you will be doing

Strong experience in GI (General Insurance). Knowledge of Life Insurance will be an advantage.

In depth understanding and experience of actuarial and risk modelling techniques

Knowledge of actuarial software such as FIS Prophet system will be a distinct advantage

Previous experience in digital transformation, data analytics, machine learning and AI will be most valued

Must be able to speak and write fluent English. Secondary language skills in Chinese will be an advantage.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Team player with a strong sense of ownership

Location will be based in Dubai, Singapore or India.

Around 15-25% of travel will be required

What you Bring

University graduate in Actuary Studies or equivalent (actuarial certification an advantage)

Have worked in General Insurers, Business consultancy firms or Insurance solution providers for at least 8 years

Currently we are looking for an experienced Actuarial Consulting Analyst focusing on General Insurance (GI) for our office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

What you will be doing:

The main role will be to support the Middle East services team in all the following aspects of the role:
Join the team of SMEs assisting in the implementation of the actuarial code provided with the Prophet Liability and Asset Liability Strategy (ALS) libraries
Perform model reviews and deliver optimisation reports based on customer models
Design, structure and develop code during customer projects as required which inclusive of GI Reserving, GI Capital Modelling, IFRS 17
Assist in the presales support of Prophet GI where required
Provide customer Prophet training to customers with a focus on all levels of courses (e.g. Introduction to Prophet, Advanced Coding in Prophet, Introduction to Prophet ALS)
Local onsite customer assistance may be required for short periods
Prototyping Solvency II / IFRS models in Prophet
What you bring:

The ideal candidate would have capital modelling, pricing and reserving hands-on experience and building the models before.
A strong interest in actuarial software and systems, but they should also possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
A qualified Actuary (or equivalent experience), with a specialism in General Insurance
Good to have knowledge of the Prophet system or demonstrable equivalent experience, and involvement in key business projects using Prophet. Good working knowledge of the various Prophet components (not mandatory)
The successful candidate will have a background in general insurance or financial services, and a general knowledge of the financial services industry’s regulatory and reporting frameworks, e.g. IFRS17
Arabic is highly desirable
Strong verbal and written English language skills, and presentation skills are essential
Willingness to travel around the region
Added bonus if you have:

Knowledge of financial services industry and associated products
Experience working on technology implementation projects, either in-house or in a vendor/consultancy environment
Experience working on international projects

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works individually or within a team on technology business consulting projects to meet specific client requirements.
  • Serves as liaison between end-users and consultants during consulting projects.
  • Expertly researches and documents client needs, technology or regulations related to system design, enhancement and acquiring hardware or software that will impact multiple platforms and/or applications.
  • Defines product scope, objectives and requirements. Defines specifications and data models for product development and testing.
  • Creates detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
  • Analyzes marketplace, industry, company, technology trends and best practices, vendor products and services, etc. Also analyzes system impacts to other systems and procedures.
  • Devises and/or modifies processes and procedures to achieve greater efficiencies and to solve most complex technical problems related to computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.
  • Assesses available technologies and recommends solutions to consulting team.
  • Writes test plans and test cases to ensure enhancements made to applications meet client needs and application integrity is maintained.
  • Conducts a variety of tests such as system, integration, readiness and acceptance tests. Conducts tests using client data to be certain client needs will be met.
  • Influences clients, business partners and service providers regarding priorities, hardware/software selection and/or vendor selection.
  • Consults directly with clients and may travel to client site.
  • Acts as team leader for technical aspects of consulting projects leading sub-plans or small projects. May mentor, guide, advise and/or check work of less experienced business systems analysts and technology business consultants.
  • May play a key role in training client and technical support personnel on enhancements, new systems or procedures. Training may be delivered one-on-one as knowledge transfer or in a classroom setting depending on number in audience and client preference.
  • May serve as pre-sales support specialist when needed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of FIS products and services and financial services industry
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple end-to-end systems development life cycles, i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development and conversion methodologies

  • Knowledge of application architecture
