Field Technician

About the role :

– Drive around assigned areas to monitor bike stations.

– Conduct a general inspection of bikes out in the field to ensure bikes are in good working order, including: checking brakes, wheels and tyre pressure.

– Identify bikes which are not working and return them to the warehouse mechanics for fixing.

– Troubleshoot performance issues of the station and coordinate with the supervisor to ensure all stations are live.

– Produce field reports.

– Monitor station capacity and direct helpers to rebalance bikes ensuring even distribution across stations within the assigned area.

– Train the field helpers.

About you :

– Mandatory – UAE driving license (clean) / Manual

– Mandatory – Good level of English, and communication skills;

– Good technical knowledge of bikes and tools;

– Tech savvy – able to use mobile applications to monitor stations and record maintenance;

– Minimum 1 year driving experience, preferably in Dubai;

– Possesses at technical background for a minimum of 1 year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work under the direction of the Operations Director to ensure successful operations
  • Oversee training, scheduling, and management of the field team to conduct bike and station repairs and daily bike redistribution.
  • Lead hiring process of short-term launch team and hiring for core operations team
  • Design schedules and procedures to ensure that required customer service, station cleanliness, station maintenance, and rebalancing metrics are met and improved, as needed.
  • Ensure that safety-related processes are in place and that all staff follow appropriate safety procedures.
  • Develop and implement processes to manage the maintenance, distribution and cleanliness of the bikes and stations
  • Optimize operations to drive ridership, operational efficiency and asset durability
  • Maintain a working relationship with customer service center staff to ensure that systems are functional and customer service needs are handled quickly and efficiently.
  • Act as manager for station relocations and deployments
  • Work in partnership with the bike mechanic lead and other operations staff to ensure timely and productive workflows and continuous operational improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate purchasing and tracking of equipment and supplies
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained to -manufacturer recommendations.
  • Ensure operability of all safety gear and technical equipment.
  • Assist Director of Operations with metrics tracking and reporting.
  • Fill gaps in operations team capacity as needed, including execution of duties in the field.
  • Assist in occasional public-facing activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 + years of operations/logistics background, including proven experience managing operations teams.
  • High proficiency in Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, Google Applications, and the ability to learn new software.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Organized thinker, with the ability to self-direct under a high pressure environment with changing deadlines.

As a Product Manager in Careem Pay team, you will be leading and owning products and services that enables paying experience for customers and captains (drivers) in a delightful and compliant fashion across the Middle East and North Africa. The role is based in our Dubai office.

About the role

As a Product Manager you will:

  • Launching and scaling card-issuing business across Careem countries, and the ability to translate user needs into product requirements
  • Be both tactically and strategically focused (be a product owner and a product manager)
  • Own the vision and be the expert for your product roadmap for your product/service
  • Be a leader in championing for your product across all stakeholders internal and external including city teams, marketing and other line of businesses like ride hailing, food, order anything.
  • Possess customer empathy and curiosity mindset – defining customer value propositions based on personas (design thinking approach).

Requirements

  • 2 + years of payments experience in Fintech ecosystem and + 3 years of experience within the team of a card issuer, or card issuer/processor or card program manager
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with large, cross-functional (e.g. product, sales, strategy, marketing) and cross-regional teams, coordinating multiple initiatives at once with a hands-on mentality, proven commercial edge and entrepreneurial track record.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data for analyzing, reporting and efficiently responding to data in order to make informed product decisions.
  • Design thinking experience and mobility background is a plus but not a requirement
