The Role

We are now recruiting a Scientific Advisor – Immuno-Oncology – Middle East & Africa, who will be responsible to actively engage with Thought Leaders and to serve as the Therapeutic Area (TA) reference point within their geographic scope. The SA is responsible to design and deliver the medical plan in collaboration with the partners, provide medical support to internal matrix, and foster effective and open relationships with the LR partners & support the development Brand Strategies in collaboration with BMS commercial by communicating medical insight and knowledge about the product or disease area in particular with reference to patients’ needs and treatment trends.

Key Responsibilities:

External Environment and Customer Focus

Develop and maintain strong relationships with Thought Leaders, appropriate HCPs, and access stakeholders, within a given geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product and HEOR related questions. SAs will use various channels for interactions (1:1, group presentation; remote, etc).
Effectively present information to HCPs, as appropriate, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines and directives.
Actively profile the medical landscape and continuously update knowledge and expertise in products, patient treatment trends, unmet medical needs, clinical trials and scientific activities. Understand the competitive landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers.
Collect and provide meaningful medical insights back to the medical and commercial organizations to be actioned in support of the strategy development

Medical Planning/Execution

Provide strategic input into the development of Brand plans, develop and execute local Medical Plan and TL Interaction plans.
Deliver scientifically meaningful medical program proposals and ensure flawless execution of medical activities
Identify potential speakers for BMS educational programs and ensure that these speakers receive all necessary product and disease state training.

Compliance

Endorse and implement a culture of compliance
Adhere to all internal and external rules and regulations
Alert management or the Compliance Department to any possible compliance issues
Act as a role model who demonstrates consistent ethical and professional behaviour.

Required skills & desired experience:

Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD)
Relevant industry experience in Medical Affairs Experience in a customer-facing role
with thought leaders and key customers preferred.
Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams including clinical, commercial, regulatory, pharmacovigilance and health outcomes as well as and market-based medical colleagues.
Broad experience in Oncology with specific expertise in Immuno-Oncology
Highly organized and motivated individual possessing excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Quickly and comprehensively learning about new subject areas and environments
Expert Knowledge of oncology/ Immuno-Oncology
Experience in the ME region health care environment & knowledge of local regulations.
Developing field medical plans aligned with medical and overall disease & product objectives
Fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

The Role

Key responsibilities:

Develop a high performing FP&A team (three direct reports) focused on effective business partnering by providing day-to-day direction, allocating work and coaching.
Contribute to the MEA Finance team success.
Partner with the Commercial team & enabling functions to develop and manage financial information for success of the business including specific brand support and OPEX control.
Shape resource allocation across the market to maximize the value creation.
Assist Country Controller in legal entity matters (e.g. LE profitability, Tax …).
Propose and implement ideas to simplify the business models.
Act as primary point of contact for all financial queries related to areas of responsibility, coming from both internal and external business partners (e.g. Distributors, CSO …) across all areas of the business.
Drive the monthly closing process and ensuring that financial data is accurately recorded in the books and records, liaising proactively with GFS.
Lead on and ensure the completion of the annual Budget and Projections within areas of responsibility. Review and challenge submissions from business partners and rolled-up submissions to ensure package submissions to senior management are robust.
Ensure high levels of financial stewardship by making business partners aware of policy and procedure requirements and supporting them in the appropriate use of finance systems (e.g. SAP-RPM).
Continuously seek more efficient ways to perform duties, streamline processes and improve forecast accuracy.
Work closely with Pricing team to understand pricing strategy for in-scope brands.
Participate in S&OP process, ensuring production plans and supply are aligned with latest demand assumptions.
Support enhancing and simplifying the Gross to Net accrual exercise.
Support ensuring Accounts Receivable are under control and mitigate risk of bad debts.
Support Internal Audits and 3rd Party BCF reviews as needed.
Experience and Knowledge:

Experience of working in a multinational company in Finance for at least 10 years.
Business knowledge within the pharmaceutical industry including legal, compliance & regulatory requirements.
Successful leadership of multi-functional Finance team.
Strong commercial mindset combined with a solid accounting foundation.
Demonstrated ability and desire to continuously drive process improvements and streamline activities.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, partner with senior management, and be a trusted and reliable source of information, analysis, and support.
An attitude which is demonstrated by a “how can I” approach to issues, resilience, commitment to goals, and persistence.
Strong Excel skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Thorough knowledge of SAP, SAP BI, RPM & Hyperion.
Qualifications:
