SENIOR BIOPHARMACEUTICAL REP

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with manager to develop and implement territory POA and key account plans
  • Evaluates progress versus plan monthly and agrees to course corrections with manager
  • Contributes to Cluster/Territory Teams and proactively collaborates (Medical Affairs/Key Account Manager, etc.) to agree on key account plan objectives/responsibilities

  • Operates within the agreed expense budget aligned with POA priorities

AUTHORITY:

OUTPUT:

  • Action plans per Priority Account (developed with Medical Reps and District Promotion Manager)
  • Inclusion of products in KA Hospital Formularies without restrictions and with price conditions that reflect the value
  • High quality internal and external customer relationships
  • Periodic activity reports in covered area (net sales analysis, Price evaluation, discounts evolution, calls)
  • Developing solutions together to address customer needs and create value for all parties

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor`s degree
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a sales-related job
  • Experience & understanding of Kuwait healthcare system and patient flow in MOH
  • Experience with computer systems (CRM databases and MS Office)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Fluency in local language, both in oral and written communication
  • Kuwait relevant local legal qualification (Transferrable residency and valid driving license) is a must

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor`s degree in life science or (bio) medical sciences

MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON- KUWAIT (CW)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Field-based expert role based in Kuwait that acts as primary interface to external Medical stakeholders to ensure data dissemination and generation in Upper GULF in close collaboration with other field-based Amgen functions:

  • Interact regularly with healthcare decision makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform, as aligned with Amgen’s corporate goals and objectives
  • Lead General Medicine medical affairs activities in Upper GULF along defined local Medical Launch/Brand strategies
  • Communicate complex cutting edge technical information and research concepts to healthcare decision makers
    Identify and train members of Amgen’s speaker bureau and ensure they are updated on new data
  • Provide clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision makers
  • Consolidate and communicate trends, market insights, and unmet needs identified in the field
  • Positively impact external perceptions and knowledge regarding company and company products
  • Maintain and demonstrate comprehensive and in-depth scientific TA Related knowledge when executing assigned tactics
  • Ensure operational excellence by sharing best practices, learnings including entrepreneurial and innovative ideas
  • Develop, Implement and monitor the execution of OL’s scientific engagement plans
  • Act as a resource, liaison and facilitator for Investigator-sponsored trials and investigators, and support Amgen sponsored research
  • Coordinates with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations in providing field support for research studies and assist in the selection of clinical study sites
  • Provide training to HCPs (i.e. contracted speakers)
  • Identify and interact with influential members of the TA Medical community (HCPs/OLs) and other healthcare stakeholders (public and private care organizations, patient groups) within Upper GULF
  • Report Scientific interactions on ALIGN reporting system, ensure proper tiering and OL profiling in Alignment with the MSL manager
  • Ensure proper OL coverage, frequency of scientific interactions, proper balance between assigned scientific platforms and time on the field in alignment with the MSL manager
  • Represent company at Medical Education events, programs, meetings, congresses
  • Partner with external and internal stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to improve patient care

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Clinical Development / Medical Affairs/Clinical operations/Commercial operations)
  • Preferable prior industry experience as Medical sciences liaison or in the Therapeutic Area
  • Experience in clinical study management and conduct/ Experience in scientific publication (Preferred)
  • Advanced Clinical/Science Degree (e.g. MD, PhD) that provides knowledge of theories, principles and concepts within a relevant discipline
  • Training in regional / local and international regulations including Good Clinical Practice (Preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge in Biostatistics and Epidemiology (Preferred)
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge in Medical Education and Qualitative/Quantitative Research standards and reporting
  • Moderate to Advanced knowledge in Medical Writing

The Head of Legal for MEA will be responsible for leading all day-to-day legal matters and strategies relating to Amgen’s operations across the 16 countries of its fast-expanding Middle East and Africa region. This dynamic position will provide broad-based legal support to Amgen MEA’s commercial, medical, regulatory and related functions such as finance and HR. This role serves as a key advisor to the MEA General Manager and will be a member of MEA Management Team.

This Head of Legal (MEA) will be part of the International Legal Group, based in Zug, Switzerland, and will report directly to a member of that group, with a matrix reporting to the MEA General Manager.

Account abilities Include:

  • Serve as primary in-bound / out-bound point of contact on all legal issues for the MEA region
  • Member of the MEA Management Team and associated leadership committees
  • Provide counsel to Amgen MEA teams on the full range of business issues, including customer contracting, growth strategies, new market entry, distribution, brand promotion, privacy and any related disputes
  • Advise on general compliance matters related to appropriate interactions with health care professionals and government officials
  • Partner with Amgen MEA Business Units and Value, Access & Policy group on all aspects of pricing, promotion and reimbursement activities related to Amgen products
  • Partner with Amgen MEA Regulatory, Medical and Clinical teams on the laws and regulations related to the filing and promotion of pharmaceutical products, and clinical trial activities across the region
  • Provide legal support on HR, IP-related and corporate development/licensing/litigation activities across MEA as required
  • Participate and lead on external negotiations, including industry association and legal policy discussions.
  • Handle corporate administration of related Amgen entities, including drafting Board of Directors and/or Shareholders meeting minutes
  • Lead engagement of external counsel, prepare legal budgets and track current and forecasted external legal spend
  • Manage and develop a more junior lawyer, who reports directly to this role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A licensed lawyer and a law degree from a recognized European or US law school
  • Admission to the bar with 10+ years post-qualification legal experience at a top law firm and/or experience working in a legal department of a multinational company
  • Experience in the life sciences/healthcare sector, ideally in the Middle East or other emerging markets.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is essential.
  • Other languages, particularly French, are desirable but not crucial.
  • Excellent analytic, legal drafting, oral and written communication skills
  • Consistent track record of ethical judgement, maturity, strategic planning, problem solving and decision-making, strong decisive leadership and people management
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and provide a high level of client services across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

  • Experience navigating matrixes within global organizations

District Sales Manager – Lower Gulf

  • Translates Amgen affiliate and brand strategy into regional plans (to deliver successful treatments)
